This was one of the ways that my rescued raccoons enjoyed entertaining themselves. Guess life is rough when you are orphaned, rescued and living in a master bathroom until release time. Children are children regardless of species I guess.

They have been released and they are free to play with things other than toilet paper now! They are doing well and enjoy life out in the wild.

God does bring you the desires of your heart...long ago I told Him I would love to have one of these creatures. (r.a.c.c.o.o.n.) In His heart He wanted not only to give me the desires of my heart, but to show me He is a Papa who gives abundantly to those who seek Him. I received three from Him in the beginning of May.

They came by way of a friend who somehow knew that I have a gift with wild things (who knew God gave the ability to mother wild things as a gift, but I can attest that I have this gift). Danny's friend cut down a tree where they were nesting, mama ran away. After no mama returned and no phone calls to rescue groups were returned, God put my name on Danny's heart.

When I heard the message on my machine from Danny's wife (my girlfriend Kristine)...my heart screamed yes. I called my Knight and asked him if I could say yes...though it was his answering machine and said if he didn't return the call in a matter of minutes that I was going to call back and have them delivered to our home.

The three amigos arrived...we named them

Skippy John Jones

(we already have a cat named Hope...and we didn't want her to feel hurt by having to share her name ;-)

We have been enjoying them immensely.

Actually I have NEVER had anything that brought me into worship like these 3 little creatures. As I hold them, my heart falls into adoration to my Father in heaven, who chose me to be their mama for a time.

He is a giver of good gifts. Actually all gifts come from Him. Look around and begin to thank Him...and wait knowing He will bless in His perfect time.

An Ebenezer

On my desk sits two very round stones made by the hand of God, they are my Ebenezers. They were taken from the beach in Rhode Island where God moved a man's heart to give us his home for a week.

The home was such a blessing for us. It was a perfect week, a time of God's touch and refreshing for the Papa and the Mama.

What God told the man was, "Give them your home (you normally rent out), my son is tired from serving me through adoption. He needs a vacation desperately, but won't be able to afford one. Give him your home and allow Me to refresh him (and his family-namely me).

Just remembering His faithfulness again, after a hard day and feeling weary to the bone. Knowing He is watching out for me and looking for opportunities to bless me; as I pour myself out,

He gives me the hope and strength I need to get through another day.

A conversation that happened in the predawn of today...

God to the angel in charge of the storehouse of snow : " Open the storehouse over that little spot in New England with all those adopted children. Let them see some of all that my warehouses in Heaven hold."

Angel to God: "Okay, Lord. But didn't they just get like 58" of snow and didn't they just adopt a child from Ethiopia (I think she is 13.)

God to Angel: "Exactly right, let her be a witness to my creation of snow. She is playing catch-up with this wonder I have made. Oh, certainly she will stand amazed! Make sure they get another 2 feet of the glorious white stuff!"

Angel: "Surely she will cry out in amazement."

God: "Just ignore her parents, who are praying that spring comes soon. Their faith will be strengthened from all the extra prayer time."

perhaps...this happened early this morning...

guess we will have to wait until we get to Heaven to find out.

Imagine, angels who snow blow from the storehouses, straight from Heaven to us. ;-)

(and yes, that Angel does look rather Italian and a bit like my Knight....but isn't it cool how they snow blow upside down in Heaven?)

Adoption of Unusual Kind

This is my girlfriend Beth. She is such a good sport.I am pretty sure if you look up the word good sport or team player, that Beth's name would be part of that definition.

This picture was taken prior to the sun rising, on a day I dragged her out of her warm bed and out to shop at 50% off, at our local Savers thrift shop. She even *tried* to smile as I snapped her picture (knowing full well it could end up on the blog).

Beth is not only my dear friend, but she has been adopted into my family. We all love Beth and are so grateful for God for bringing her to our family.

A few years ago Beth lost her mom (whom we both loved!). I had the privilege of sharing with Beth her moms last moments here on earth. It is a gift from God I will never ever forget. It was at this moment that I realized I needed to adopt sweet Beth and make her *ours* forever.

I love this girl with all my heart.

Thus far she is my oldest adoptee, but by far the easiest in paperwork

If only all adoptions could be so easy and quick!

Beth, you are a gift to me. Thank you for going to Starbucks, because I know you prefer coffee from *other* establishments (which shall remain nameless- perhaps to protect the innocent ;-)
